About The Hunt
The Great Perrysburg Treasure Hunt is a self-guided, clue-based adventure hosted over the length of the summer:
May 22, 2026 - August 10, 2026.
Participation in The Hunt requires registration. Early registration is strongly encouraged and allows you to sign up in advance of The Hunt. Participants may also register in-person at select Perrysburg locations throughout the duration of The Hunt.
How The Hunt Works
Who Can Join: Everyone
The Hunt is designed for everyone! You can join on your own, team up with family or friends, or even turn it into a fun summer date idea.
Go at your own pace and make it your own adventure. Some people will take their time and enjoy it all summer, while others may race to solve every clue and be first to find the treasure.
Whether you complete one clue or the entire Hunt, every level of participation is meant to be fun, meaningful, and rewarding.
The Hunt takes place in two stages, so participants can choose their level of challenge and commitment. Stage One offers a complete and rewarding experience on its own, but to reach the treasure and win the Grand Prize, both stages must be completed.
One Treasure: Two Stages
-
Stage One is fun, flexible, and perfect for kids and families. Starting May 22, you can pick up the Stage One Opening Materials at select spots around Perrysburg.
The Opening Materials will include twelve individual clues. These clues can be completed in any order, leading participants along twelve separate paths to twelve unique locations. In essence, twelve mini Treasure Hunts.
At the end of each clue path, you’ll find a unique rubber stamp to mark your materials. Collect stamps to earn small prizes and raffle entries at select locations around town. Complete as many clues as you like — just a few or all twelve.
-
Participants who have completed Stage One and wish to take on a deeper challenge may choose to continue to Stage Two. This stage is for those Hunters drawn to the possibility of uncovering the treasure itself, perhaps even being the first to reach it, winning the Grand Prize.
Stage Two introduces more complex clues that require additional time, focus, and persistence. The pace becomes more demanding, and the challenge deepens.
Those choosing to continue will receive a package of Stage Two materials necessary for this second stage of the Hunt: a map, code ciphers, other necessary tools, and the next clue. From there, each clue leads directly to the next, culminating in the discovery of the treasure.
